Clergy Consultations
Clergy Consultations were incorporated into the founding vision of the House. These ecumenical gatherings then provided some of the first in-service clergy education in England.
Today, they continue to seek to encourage those who are appointed to an ordained ministry of spiritual leadership in church and society to reappraise, in the company of their peers, the theological basis for Christian social action, church life and the ongoing formation of ordained ministry. Theological reflection is conducted in the framework of challenging contributions made by visiting presenters who themselves exercise leadership roles in secular society and can include people of other than Christian religious background. The programmes are intended to challenge, stimulate and encourage ministers in their service of the church so that the church may better serve the world God seeks to redeem.
