Faith in a Christian way of life
Protection of the nation
Loyalty to the monarch
St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and the College of St George – the ancient religious fellowship that maintains it – are independent of crown, state and church.
This means that we rely on income from visitors and supporters to:
Allow us to continue to offer daily prayer, as we have done - in an uninterrupted pattern - for over 500 years
Maintain the Choir of St George’s Chapel (including the education of up to 24 choristers at St George’s School), offering daily Evensong during the three College terms
Maintain St George’s Chapel and the medieval lodgings and other buildings that surround it (including the Archives and St George’s House)
Care for the unique treasures contained in St George’s Chapel and its Archives (St George’s is burial place to ten monarchs and has one of the finest worldwide collections of heraldry in its Garter stall plates)
Offer hospitality to over 1 million visitors each year
Support and care for the 125 staff and residents and over 200 volunteers that make the work of St George’ s possible sustaining links with 50 parishes or benefices around England
