The Foundation of the College of St George

The Foundation was set up to enable the central coordination and administration of charitable gifts for the maintenance and development of the College of St George.

Aim of the Foundation:  The primary aim of the Foundation is to provide the financial framework within which the Dean and Canons can pursue the objectives of the College of St George.  The Trustees of the Foundation will direct the raising of funds, the maintenance of those funds and, where appropriate, their disbursement.

Overall Objectives:  The objects of the charitable company are the furtherance of the Christian religion and the advancement of education by supporting and assisting the Dean and Canons of Windsor, St George’s Chapel and the Choir, St George’s House, St George’s School, the ecclesiastical patronages of the Dean and Canons of Windsor and any other charity operating in and around Windsor Castle, including:

  • the preservation, refurbishment, maintenance and improvement of the fabric of St George’s Chapel and other buildings connected with those charitable activities
  • the preservation of the heritage and traditions of the College of St George
  • the provision, promotion and encouragement of music the promotion of debate and inter-cultural understanding the preservation and conservation of the artefacts, manuscripts and books of the College of St George.

The Foundation of the College of St George, Windsor Castle, is a company limited by guarantee.
