Exhibition – the people of St George’s

From Tuesday 2 April 2019 there will be a new display from the Chapel’s Archives in the South Quire Aisle. In 1348 King Edward III established St George’s as “a College of Canons, Presbyters, Clerks and Knights, who in the same Chapel shall evermore wait upon the Lord’s service.” This exhibition explores seven centuries of St George’s Chapel through the lives of some of the extraordinary people who have lived and served here. The display will be in place until 20 March 2020.

From left to right: Dean Christopher Wren (Dean 1635-1659), Sir John Dineley (Military Knight 1798-1809) and the Reverend Edmund Fellowes (Minor Canon 1900-1951) with his wife Lilian and their cat.
