‘Cathedral Camps’ Scheme

‘Cathedral Camps’ Scheme

Twelve young people and two leaders spent a week at St George’s Chapel having volunteered as part of the ‘Cathedral Camps’ scheme.

During the course of the week they helped the Chapel and Works teams in a variety of tasks from painting and cleaning to clearing out part of the Schorne tower which sits over one of the chantry chapels of St George’s.

In addition to getting their hands dirty, the volunteers were entertained to a BBQ given by some members of the St George’s community and also toured both the Chapel and the State Apartments of Windsor Castle.

On their penultimate day they were shown some of the specialist conservation cleaning work that is being undertaken in the North Quire Aisle of St George’s Chapel.
