Joyful music filled St George’s Chapel over the course of Services on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May. Music sang and played included William Drakett’s Te Deum and Jubilate, William Walton’s ‘Orb & Sceptre’, William Harris’ anthem based on Psalm 134 and Vierne Final from Symphonie 1.
During the afternoon of Saturday 6 May the bell ringers rang a celebratory Full Peal on the eight bells of the Curfew Tower (just to the west of St George’s Chapel). 5040 Grandsire Triples composed by R. B. Pullin and arranged by James White; the peal took 2 hours and 58 minutes.
Eleven of the Choristers of the Choir of St George’s Chapel participated in the Coronation Concert on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle on Sunday 7 May. Seen here just before going on stage to sing the introduction to the final song of the show .Never Forget’ performed by ‘Take That’.
