The Longest Reign

The Longest Reign

Evensong on Wednesday 9 September will mark and celebrate the length of The Queen’s reign. Music will include Byrd’s anthem O Lord, make thy servant Elizabeth. The Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend David Conner, will give an address. The service, which is open to all begins at 5.15pm; doors open at 5pm.

The photograph shows a bronze bust of The Queen given to Her Majesty by the Knights of the Garter in 2006; it can be seen next to the North East Door of the Chapel which leads to the Dean’s Cloister. The sculptor was Angela Conner.

An exhibition celebrating The Queen’s reign opens in the Dean’s Cloister on Thursday 10 September. Normal opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm; Castle admission charges apply.

There will be a special day of family activities in the Moat Garden, the Moat Room and the Dean’s Cloister on Saturday 12 September to celebrate The Queen’s reign. Some of the music at Windsor Festival concerts and recitals will also celebrate the occasion.
