2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Windsor Festival. Founded by Yehudi Menuhin with the then Dean of Windsor, Robin Woods, as Chairman of the Festival, some of the very first concerts took place in St George’s Chapel. The opening Evensong for this year’s Festival will take place on Sunday 15 September.
This year there will be two concerts in St George’s Chapel:
Thursday 19 September at 7.30pm.
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with the choirs of St George’s Chapel & Eton College Chapel.
Elgar, Finzi and Vaughan Williams
Tuesday 24 September at 7.30pm.
Tenebrae.
Music includes pieces by Tallis, Allegri, Tavener, Rachmaninov, Holst and Harris.
